DU är här

A round, pink stone form rises from the ground, from which a golden pole shoots up, topped by a glowing circle. Golden lines meander across the top of the stone form, creating roads, birds, buildings, people. The work Du är här (You are here.) was born out of a creative dialogue with girls at Fritiden in Hallonbergen in the fall of 2024.

Together, we explored what a place really is – beyond buildings and streets. The artwork shows us Hallonbergen from their perspective, here you can see the people they hang out with, the roads they take to meet, the benches they sit on to talk, the lake where they no longer swim, parties they have been to, secret places and dreams they carry home. Friendships and meetings can be as important as a building, a sign or a road to describe a place, if not more important. We transformed stories and drawings into a monument, where we gilded, illuminated and lifted up the girls' perspectives so that everyone can see.

The work is located in the place the girls described as "the best to see the sunset". So sit down and become part of the story of Hallonbergen, you too, You are here.
