ÄGD - SOlo Exhibition
WAY gallery presents the exhibition ÄGD by Klara Wirsén Suchowiak between 5/3-2/4 2026.
In ÄGD, Wirsén takes the body as both site and narrative. Sculptural figures and spatial elements are charged with the contradictory experiences of parenthood—desire, care, vulnerability, and excess. Tongues extend into the room, forming an audience around a central fountain filled with breast milk, allowing the vital and the sexualized to coexist side by side. The exhibition moves between the uncanny, the tender, and the comic, creating an environment in which the viewer’s own body is activated—as observer, participant, and recipient.
Through objects and spatial compositions, Wirsén gives form to inner landscapes and states of mind, granting them a tangible physical presence. Her works are intended to draw the viewer in, evoking strong bodily recognition and a desire for closeness and interaction.
Materiality plays a decisive role in her practice. She works with wood, metal, stone, textile, plastic, fiberglass, and found objects to create forms and surfaces that activate the senses and elicit bodily sensations. Exploring, testing, and mastering new materials and techniques is a central part of her artistic process. See more: artist catalouge
